A NEW, LOCALLY OWNED HEALTH AND WELLBEING FACILITY TO OPEN AT THE JUNCTION

Volume Fitness opening represents a £100k investment and will create 12 new jobs

A new health and wellbeing facility is set to open at The Junction Retail and Leisure Park this September, representing a £100,000 investment.

Occupying three units and covering a total space of 5,558 sq. ft., 12 new full-time and part-time jobs will be created when Volume Fitness opens at the Antrim-based shopping destination.

The opening of the facility will take a phased approach, with the first phase being a dedicated group training space that can accommodate up to 16 people. Members of the public can sign up to a 12-week programme that involves small groups of four being trained by a personal coach, with a core focus on both physical and emotional wellbeing.

A fully equipped open access gym will complete the next phase of the development, offering a range of membership options, with walk-in passes also available. Highly skilled fitness experts will provide a bespoke experience for members by providing additional services including functional screening and bio mechanical analysis.

The third phase of the development, expected to open later this year, will feature a dedicated space to accommodate yoga and pilates classes as well as holistic services including Reiki, reflexology, massage and mindfulness workshops.

The new addition is part of The Junction’s ongoing £30 million redevelopment plan, which has attracted several new retailers over the last 12 months including the UK’s fastest growing family-owned toy store The Entertainer and global sports retailer Intersport.

Earlier this year, it was also announced that three new eateries; Nando’s, TGI Fridays and a Starbucks Drive-Thru will open towards the end of 2019. Construction is currently underway and further innovations to the site will include a new tree lined entrance road, a feature public square and an extensive new landscaping plan.

Commenting on the announcement, Craig Stewart, senior asset manager of Lotus Property, said:

“The arrival of Volume Fitness will be a very welcome addition to The Junction and is set to further complement the scheme’s growing portfolio of retail and leisure brands.

“2019 is shaping up to be an instrumental year for the redevelopment of The Junction, with construction to the centre’s food and beverage offering well underway.

“The mastermind behind Volume Fitness, Paul Keenan, has an exceptional reputation as a health and wellbeing expert and his service offering will provide a new and exciting concept to The Junction.”

Paul Keenan, proprietor of Volume Fitness, added:

As an Antrim local, I was impressed by The Junction’s redevelopment plans that are currently taking place, which will significantly expand the retail and leisure offering in the surrounding area.

“Since setting up Volume Fitness in 2017, we have experienced phenomenal success and we’ve built a loyal client following. Our approach is to encourage people to feel better about themselves both physically and mentally through various mind-body connection protocols..
